Keon Cupid started playing the steelpan in 1996 at the age of sixteen. His love for the instrument began after he was captivated by the sounds emanating from his secondary school's steelband, which he overheard while training with the school !s football team. He immediately inquired about joining the band and the rest was history. During his tenure with the band he rose to captain and his leadership helped pilot the band through winner!s row in local school steelband competitions. After leaving school he toured the U.S. with the New Creation Steel Orchestra in 2000. He also played with the Skiffle Bunch for approximately four years and performed at local and international venues, engagements and competitions such as The Crane hotel(Barbados) and the Republic Bank Exodus International Pan Ramajay competition. He has composed and produced his own music and released three albums namely "A Lighter Touch” his debut album ,followed by his second album entitled "Metamorphosis” and his third "Inspiration”, which is available for digital streaming and purchase at keoncupidthepanman.com, on Apple Music, Amazon and similar platforms. He has also recorded some cover versions and has been providing entertainment at various events such as wedding ceremonies, cocktail hour receptions, engagement parties and dinners, and other intimate occasions whether live and in person or virtually.
